Dr. Pamela Houghton, ND, LAc has retired from regular practice as of July 1, 2015. She is currently conducting phone and email consultations for existing patients (by prior arrangement on Tuesday afternoons), as well as mailing them supplements upon request.
Dr. Houghton blended naturopathic medicine with acupuncture and Chinese medicine. She began practicing naturopathic medicine in 1982 and incorporated acupuncture 10 years later. She was a general family practitioner with a special interest in women’s health and emotional growth, including equine-assisted mental health.
Dr. Houghton has an undergraduate degree in Human Biology from Stanford University, and received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle. She returned to Bastyr to study acupuncture and received an MS in that field in 1992. She taught clinical medicine at Bastyr for seven years in addition to having had a private practice located in Seattle. In addition to her holistic practice, she hosted workshops with her horses to help participants build self-confidence, leadership and communications skills.
